The Commission

One Room. Airbnb Standard. One Brief.

A guesthouse owner in Achimota commissioned Neewoody to take a single room from standard guesthouse level up to Airbnb standard — a complete fit-out covering the furniture, the joinery, and the wall treatments, all designed to read as one considered space.

The brief ran across categories that are usually separate jobs: a queen bed and nightstand, a built-in wardrobe with a floating vanity desk, lit glass display cabinets, a TV unit set against a marble feature wall, slat wall paneling, and wainscotting carried through into the adjoining hallway.

Queen Bed & Nightstand

A solid wood queen bed frame in a warm walnut-toned finish, with a clean panelled headboard and a matching nightstand. Built to sit comfortably under the room's stained wood-slat ceiling.

Simple, sturdy, and proportioned for the room — the anchor piece a guest sees first.

Built-in Wardrobe, Vanity & Glass Cabinets

A full wall of joinery: a built-in wardrobe in white with brushed handles, a floating walnut vanity desk with mirror and open cubbies, overhead storage, and a tall black-framed glass display cabinet with warm internal lighting.

Recessed strip lighting under the overhead units and inside the glass cabinet lifts the whole composition — storage that doubles as the room's feature wall.

TV Unit & Marble Feature Wall

A floating media bench in white with a walnut top, set against a grey marble-effect feature wall and paired with a second lit glass display cabinet. Drawers below keep equipment and cabling out of sight.

The marble panel, the warm wood, and the black-framed glass tie the media wall back to the wardrobe wall opposite — one material story across the room.

Wall Paneling & Hallway Wainscotting

Vertical walnut-toned slat paneling wraps the corner around the air-conditioning unit, turning a plain wall into a warm backdrop. The same considered detailing carries out of the room as classic white wainscotting along the adjoining hallway.

Paneling and wall molding are grouped with the room's joinery here because they're built and finished as part of the same fit-out — the wall treatment that makes the space feel finished.
