The Commission
Four Pieces. One Home. One Brief.
Neewoody was commissioned to design and build four pieces for a private residence in Dome, Accra — each serving a different room and function, but all following a consistent design language: dark laminate cabinetry, matte black hardware, and a clean, considered finish throughout.
The standout piece is the wave-carved Guarea chest of drawers — a solid hardwood chest with a flowing wave pattern carved across the full face of every drawer front. The remaining three pieces — a compact kitchenette, three upholstered bar stools, and a full-height fitted wardrobe — complete the commission with the same attention to detail.
Wave-Carved Guarea Chest of Drawers
The hero piece of the commission. A chest of drawers in solid Guarea — a premium West African hardwood prized for its fine grain, rich warm tone, and exceptional workability — with a flowing wave pattern carved across the full face of every drawer front.
The carving runs as one continuous motion across all the drawers, from edge to edge. Integrated recessed pulls with no visible hardware keep the face clean. Deep walnut-toned finish highlights the natural warmth of the timber. One of the most distinctive pieces in the Neewoody portfolio.

Compact Kitchenette
A single-run kitchenette unit in warm russet laminate with a dark oxidised stone-effect countertop and matching upstand backsplash. Undermount black sink with pull-out mixer tap. Three-door base cabinet with matte black bar handles throughout.
Built to fit the space exactly — every dimension calibrated to the room. A compact unit that punches above its size in finish quality and functionality.

Solid Wood Bar Stools
Three matching bar stools in solid wood with a matte black finish. Round upholstered seats in dark velvet — padded for comfort and built for daily use. Curved backrest and X-cross stretcher base. Built to pair with the kitchen island counter.
All three stools are built to the same height and finish — consistent as a set, sturdy enough for a family kitchen.
Full-Height Fitted Wardrobe
A full-height two-door fitted wardrobe in dark laminate, matching the finish language of the kitchenette. Three drawers below with matte black bar handles — same hardware specification throughout the commission.
Built to exact room dimensions. The fit from floor to ceiling makes use of every centimetre of the space while keeping the look clean and deliberate.
